The high-quality cotton used to produce our clothing is certified by independent agencies ECO-CERT (Germany), SKAL (The Netherlands), and IMO (Switzerland), guaranteeing the organic label of the fabric. The organic cotton complies with fair trade standards, grown on 800 hectares in the Maharastra region of India by a cooperative of 300 farmers who are paid in advance for their product.
We believe that it is imperative for our cotton to be healthy and environmentally sound. The production of conventional cotton is in fact, one of the most polluting activities in the world. With the cotton industry representing less than 2.4% of cultivated land, it uses more than 20% of the world’s market of insecticides and 11% of pesticides. In contrast, the cultivation of organic cotton allows for the preservation of health of small producers, avoids excessive pollution to the earth, and contributes to sustainable development.
